LED street lights serve public roads, industrial estate roads, yards and internal access routes. Mounted on poles, the optic spreads light along the road axis so the gap between poles does not go dark — something a floodlight generally cannot do.

What stands out

  • Long coverage with fewer poles: wider spacing at the same light level saves poles and cabling.
  • The optic spreads light along the road axis, leaving no dark gap between poles.
  • Withstands year-round weather.
  • Controllable versions dim during low-traffic hours — the biggest energy saving in public lighting.
  • Photometric data and import documentation available for public-project handover files.

Choosing the right one

The most common mistake is a like-for-like wattage swap: removing a 250W discharge lamp and fitting a 250W LED. In practice 100–150W is usually enough, and over-specifying wastes energy while glaring at road users. Three things to settle: wattage by road class and pole height, a distribution pattern matching the carriageway width, and a high enough ingress rating for continuous outdoor exposure.
