Sensor
Can't find the right product? Our HKD experts will consult free for your project.
Sensors switch lights on when someone is present and off when they are not — the largest single energy saving in corridors, toilets, stores and car parks, where lights are routinely left on all night. They also extend fixture life because the light only runs when actually needed.
What stands out
- On when occupied, off when not — no reliance on anyone remembering.
- Extends fixture life because the light runs only when needed.
- Microwave types see through thin obstacles, suiting high ceilings and partitioned areas.
- Body-heat types for corridors and toilets.
- Daylight sensors dim automatically while natural light is sufficient.
Choosing the right one
Three things decide it: ceiling height (body-heat types weaken with height, so go microwave), coverage area against room area, and the hold-on time before switching off — too short and a corridor flickers all evening, too long and most of the saving disappears. We stock only two sensor part numbers, so please contact us and we will advise the type that fits your ceiling height and floor area.
