Pendants hang from a cord or rod, bringing the light source down close to a table or counter. Common over kitchen islands, bars, dining tables and reception areas.

Choosing the right one
Drop height decides this, not wattage: the base of the shade should sit about 70–85cm above the table — lower blocks the sightline between people facing each other, higher loses the sense of a focused pool.
