Recessed Downlight

A recessed downlight provides the ambient light for a whole room: the fitting sits inside the ceiling so only the glowing face shows, keeping the ceiling flat and uncluttered. It is the default choice for homes, offices, hotel corridors and shops — anywhere you want even light without seeing the fixture.
What stands out
- Even light with no harsh shadows — suits places people sit for hours.
- Recessed, so it never blocks sightlines or eats ceiling height.
- Many models have a near-flush bezel.
- Anti-glare versions feel softer when looked at directly.
- Tuneable versions let one fitting suit both a living room and a bedroom.
- Damp-rated versions work in bathroom ceilings and covered porches.
Choosing the right one
Settle the cut-out first — once a plasterboard ceiling is cut, changing size means patching it, so measure the existing hole before asking for a part number. This range covers Ø75mm to Ø200mm plus several square versions. Two things worth asking about: retail display areas should take the high colour-rendering version so fabrics and skin tones look right; bathroom ceilings or covered porches need the damp-rated version, as standard ones are dry indoor use only.
