Office LED lighting

Offices need 500 lux at desk level per EN 12464-1, and the hard part is uniformity, not the number. 600×600 panels in suspended ceilings give flat, low-shadow light suited to open-plan areas; recessed downlights suit meeting rooms and reception where ceiling depth is tighter. Two common mistakes: over-bright fixtures under low ceilings causing screen glare, and mixing colour temperatures between zones so the office looks patchy. Use 4000K throughout the work area, changing only to separate functions deliberately. CRI 80 is adequate for offices; print and design areas should go to 90.
